Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a rural development project launched by the Central Government of India. The program focuses on the development of villages including social and cultural development in addition to spreading motivation among the people regarding the social mobilization of the village community.

Set up agro-service centers, issuance of health cards, and seed banks. Promote livestock management by means of establishing Gobar bank, cattle hostel, and veterinary services. As an important objective, it especially focuses on launching a wide range of social security programs such as Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana, Health Insurance Program-RSBY, and much more to every eligible family. With the effective use of E-governance, the Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat should be strengthening in order to improve the monitoring of service delivery according to the Department's Citizen Charter. Establish publicly visible standard operating procedures and clear guidelines to implement and monitor all programs.
For an Adarsh Gram, villages located in the plain areas with the population of around 3000-5000 or 1000-3000 in the hill & tribal areas will be ideal. The Parliament Member is free to select his or her individual village as the Adarsh Gram. Each Member of Parliament should find out a village for the primary development and for subsequent inclusion, he or she may 2-3 more villages under the scheme. The chief goal of this program is to have at least one Adarsh Gram by 2016, with at least 3 by 2019. Therefore, the target is to establish a minimum of five Adarsh Grams by the year 2024 at the rate of one village per year.
Though the present government of India has started steps towards the progress of SAGY, some opposite sections have questioned regarding the utilization of MPLADS fund for this scheme because they are previously used under several schemes being launched by the former administration. So, the present government is engaged in compromising opposition members to receive their approval and also their engagement in SAGY.
