It means that about 1.4 million children in India between the age group of 6 to 11 are missing out on laying a strong foundation for bright future through quality education. The HRD minister took measures to address these alarming issues. The ASMITA scheme is a unique scheme which will help in tracking the child's educational journey & progress. It is quite useful in finding dropouts.

Brief Of Shala Ashmita Yojana

The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has planned to implement Shala Ashmita Yojana (SAY), a student tracking system programme. ASMITA stands for 'All School Monitoring & Individual Tracking Analysis. Through this scheme, the government has the main aim of tracking the whole education journey of students. This upcoming scheme will cover about 25 crore students studying in all private and government schools from class 1 to 12, which probably creates it as the world biggest student tracking system.

Every student will be recognized by their Aadhaar Number in the tracking system & those who do not have Aadhaar will be provided with Unique Identity Number (UIN). Since 65% students aged between 5 to 18 have obtained Aadhaar cards, it can be guessed rightly that majority of students will be recognized through their Aadhaar numbers. The system will consist of a database which includes the entire educational journey of students including their attendance, percentages, infrastructural facilities and their mid-day meal consumption.

As per the online database, the government will offer special attention & facilities to the students. The student data will be entered manually into online tracking system through local authorities of every state. The tracking system also aids in tracking corruption and leakage in mid-day meals. The success of the online database scheme depends upon the assistance of state and local administrators who will be implementing the scheme on the ground. This scheme is predicted to go a long way in checking and monitoring the leakages and corruption in other school schemes and programmes, including the mid-day meal scheme.

It is usually seen that girl students are absent to the school & everybody understands the condition of government schools. At the same time, numerous complaints from Mid-Day meal that is served in government schools.
